CHINJ Holds Fourth Annual Scientific Retreat​

CHINJ held its’ fourth annual Scientific Retreat on September 15, 2022 at the Cook Campus Student Center in New Brunswick. The Retreat was a great success with close to 60 attendees presenting, discussing their science and forming new collaborations.

The retreat featured an insightful keynote address from Martin Blaser, on the Microbiome, nine talks by faculty, a dozen "speed presentations" of work by trainees and 20 posters from trainees. Six trainees were awarded "Best Poster" awards in recognition of their great science and beautiful presentations.

This included work on genetic causes of congenital muscular dystrophy, HIV brain infection, clearance of waste products from the brain, calcium signaling in immune response to infections, and new immune cells that protect against inflammatory bowel disease.
